Llafranc

Llafranc is the most exclusive of the three coastal villages of the municipality of Palafrugell — a small, sheltered bay with a prestigious marina, a wide sandy beach and a row of elegant restaurants and terraces. The village has less of a fishing character than Calella and more refinement — small-scale, quiet and deliberately kept that way. The lighthouse of Sant Sebastià on the headland above the village offers one of the most beautiful views on the Costa Brava. Llafranc has traditionally been associated with wealthy Catalan families who have had their summer homes here for generations.

For daily shopping and more extensive facilities, Palafrugell is 5 kilometres away. Calella de Palafrugell is reachable on foot via the Camí de Ronda in around 30 minutes.

Beach & nature

• Platja de Llafranc — wide, well-sheltered sandy beach with marina. Quieter than Calella, more elegant in atmosphere.
• Lighthouse of Sant Sebastià — the headland above Llafranc with spectacular panoramic views over the coast. Reachable on foot from the village.
• Camí de Ronda — connects Llafranc with Calella and Tamariu along the rugged coastline.
• Cap Roig — the botanical garden and summer festival are a short drive away.

• Beachfront properties & apartments — directly on or close to the beach. Rarely available, top price.
• Hillside villas — spacious villas with sea views around the bay. The most available segment, still exclusive.
• Historic summer homes — traditional Catalan properties that remain in the same families for generations. Occasionally on the market through inheritance.
