Platja d’Aro

Platja d'Aro lies in the heart of the municipality of Castell-Platja d'Aro and is the most complete and lively coastal town in the region. What began as a modest fishing village has grown into a vibrant seaside resort with almost two kilometres of wide sandy beach, an extensive shopping street, an active marina and a lively nightlife. Platja d'Aro is not the most exclusive coastal town on the Costa Brava — but it is one of the best-equipped and most active all year round. It attracts a varied audience: families, shoppers, sports enthusiasts and investors who appreciate the combination of beach and urban facilities.

Facilities are excellent and comprehensive. International and Spanish schools, extensive medical care, a large shopping centre, daily market, sports facilities and a wide range of restaurants and nightlife. Girona Airport is around 35 minutes away, Barcelona an hour and a half. The medieval village of Castell d'Aro and the exclusive enclave of S'Agaró are just a few kilometres away.

• Gran Platja — the central town beach, almost 2 km long, wide and well-equipped. The lively heart of Platja d'Aro in summer.
• Cala Pedrosa & Cala dels Canyers — quiet rocky coves north of the centre, reachable via the Camí de Ronda. Ideal for snorkelling.
• Marina — active harbour with boats, restaurants and water sports facilities.
• Aquadiver — one of the largest water parks in Catalonia, directly next to the town.
• Parc Natural de les Gavarres — the wooded hinterland accessible via Castell d'Aro, with walking and MTB routes.

Living & neighbourhoods

• Centre & beach zone — apartments and smaller properties directly by the beach and shopping street. Lively, well-equipped. Popular as a rental investment.
• Mas Nou — one of the most prestigious urbanisations on the Costa Brava, on the hills above Platja d'Aro with panoramic sea views. Luxury villas in traditional and modern style. Strong rental market.
• Can Semis / Cim d'Aro — smaller villa urbanisations on the slopes, with sea views and green surroundings. Good value for money.
• Los Pinos — quieter zone between Platja d'Aro and Sant Antoni, with permanent residents and proximity to beautiful coves.
