Sant Antoni de Calonge is the coastal settlement of the municipality of Calonge — a lively seaside resort with sandy beaches, picturesque coves along the Camí de Ronda and a promenade extending to Palamós. Family-friendly, well-equipped and liveable all year round.

More about Sant Antoni de Calonge

Sant Antoni de Calonge is the coastal settlement of the municipality of Calonge — once a modest fishing village, since the 1970s grown into a popular seaside resort that has managed to preserve its own character. The promenade connects Sant Antoni with Palamós and offers beautiful walking and cycling opportunities directly along the water. The historic village of Calonge lies just 4 kilometres inland, giving residents the best of both worlds: coast and authentic Catalan village life.

Facilities are good for a coastal town of this size. There are supermarkets, restaurants, a small boat harbour, schools and basic medical care. Palamós is 5 minutes away with all larger facilities. Girona Airport is around 35 minutes away, Barcelona an hour and a half.

Beaches & nature

Sant Antoni has a varied coastline — from wide sandy beaches to rocky coves along the Camí de Ronda towards Platja d'Aro. The water is clear and the landscape varied.

  • Platja de Sant Antoni — the central sandy beach, wide and family-friendly, with all facilities.
  • Torre Valentina — quiet coastal zone south of the centre, with smaller coves and less crowding.
  • Camí de Ronda — the iconic coastal path runs through Sant Antoni and connects the rocky coves towards Platja d'Aro and Palamós.
  • Treumal — exclusive villa zone directly on the coast, with private beaches and its own character.
  • Parc Natural de les Gavarres — directly behind the coastal zone, with extensive walking and MTB routes.

Living & neighbourhoods

Sant Antoni offers a broad spectrum — from apartments directly on the beach to hillside villas with sea views.

  • Centre & promenade — apartments and smaller houses close to the beach and facilities. Lively in season, quieter in winter.
  • Torre Valentina — quiet coastal zone with villas and apartments, slightly away from the bustle of the centre. Popular with families and permanent residents.
  • Treumal — exclusive villa zone directly on the sea, with limited supply and high prices. Sought-after by those wanting maximum privacy at the water's edge.
  • Hills above Sant Antoni — villas with panoramic sea views, in the transitional zone between Sant Antoni and Calonge. Mix of holiday and permanent residences.

Practical

Sant Antoni de Calonge combines a lively coastal atmosphere with a manageable scale — not as busy as Platja d'Aro, not as exclusive as Begur, but with its own loyal following of residents and returning visitors.

  • ✅ Directly on the beach, lively and well-equipped
  • ✅ Camí de Ronda directly from the door
  • ✅ Historic village of Calonge 4 km away
  • ✅ Good value for money compared to Begur
  • ✅ Family-friendly and liveable all year round
  • ❌ More tourist character than the village of Calonge
  • ❌ Busy in high season
  • ❌ Less exclusive than Begur or the coves of Palafrugell
