Sant Feliu de Guíxols

Sant Feliu de Guíxols is the largest town in the area and the most complete coastal town on the central Costa Brava. It is also the place where the name "Costa Brava" was born — in 1908 poet Ferran Agulló baptised this coast from the hermitage of Sant Elm, inspired by the rugged beauty of the landscape. The town has a lively historic centre with an impressive Benedictine monastery church (the Monestir de Sant Feliu), a wide Rambla, a daily market and one of the largest marinas on the Costa Brava. Sant Feliu is no tourist backdrop — it is a real town with an active urban life all year round.

Facilities are excellent and comprehensive: international and Spanish schools, extensive medical care including a hospital, a wide range of shops and restaurants, and excellent connections via the GI-682 coastal road and the C-65 to Girona (35 min) and Barcelona (100 km). S'Agaró is 5 minutes away, Platja d'Aro 10 minutes.

Beach & nature

• Platja de Sant Feliu — wide central sandy beach directly next to the marina and promenade. Lively and well-equipped.
• Platja de Sant Pol — picturesque beach on the border with S'Agaró, quieter and more characterful. One of the most beautiful in the region.
• Camí de Ronda — the spectacular coastal path towards S'Agaró and towards Tossa de Mar, with impressive rocky coastline and views.
• Hermitage of Sant Elm — the pilgrimage site on the cliff above the town, from where Ferran Agulló gave the Costa Brava its name. Spectacular views over the coast.
• Parc Natural de les Gavarres — the wooded hinterland directly behind the town, with extensive walking and MTB routes.

Living & neighbourhoods

• Historic centre — apartments and town houses within walking distance of beach, marina and market. Lively and authentic. Modernist properties occasionally available through inheritance.
• Promenade & marina — apartments with sea views along the promenade and directly by the marina. Popular as a permanent home or rental investment.
• Punta Brava — the most exclusive zone of Sant Feliu, 5 km south of the centre. Spectacular clifftop villas directly above the sea, with uninterrupted sea views. Prices from €1.5 million to €5 million and above. Considered one of the most exclusive property locations on the entire Costa Brava.
• Hillside villa districts — villas and chalets on the hills around the centre, with sea views and green surroundings. Good value for money.
• Sant Pol zone — apartments and smaller villas in the quiet transitional zone towards S'Agaró. Popular with those who value proximity to both towns.
